Hello there! I’m Jatinder, the founder of The Hotel Haven. Like many folks, I was working a 9-5 office job for years when I decided that this wasn’t the life I wanted for myself. I decided to trade in the cubicle life for a life of travel in 2021 and review my stays at various hotels. It was as if the travel life called out for me, and I haven’t looked back.
It all started when I would travel for my 9-5 office job.
Like many of us, I worked a 9-5 job for Corporate America. One of the perks of the job was traveling from state to state in the US for a couple of months out of the year. I spent the first couple of years of my career traveling from one city to the next as part of my work, but I discovered my love for traveling along the way. It may have been nothing more than a subconscious yearning that lay dormant inside me, but I had started to take steps towards this silent yearning to travel and experience different adventures I had only dreamed of.
In 2020, as COVID-19 swept across the globe, its impact was profound and far-reaching. With travel restrictions in place, it had a significant impact on traveling for my 9-5 office job. We had transitioned from the office walls to remote work from home. I found myself yearning for the beauty of distant landscapes, and exotic cuisines, and immersing myself in new cultures. This longing, born out of confinement sparked a newfound love of travel that I did not think was possible with my office 9-5 job. This was the catalyst that set me on a path to travel.
COVID-19, in an ironic twist, became the unexpected guide that led me to embrace the wanderlust within me and seek the wonders of the world once more. As travel restrictions eased around the globe, I was fortunate to start traveling with the benefit of ‘working from home’ 😊.
This was the start of The Hotel Haven and my new travel lifestyle to fulfill my dreams. I hope that my blog inspires and guides you on your own incredible journey igniting a passion for exploration and adventure!
