I recently come back from an unforgettable vacation at the Casa Dorada Resort and Spa, and I can’t wait to share my incredible Los Cabos experience with you. Nestled in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. this luxurious beachfront haven promises a perfect escape for anyone seeking relaxation, adventure, and a touch of paradise. From the stunning ocean views to exciting vacation activities, Casa Dorada truly offers it all.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing welcome drink and complimentary chips & guacamole. The resort’s commitment to hospitality was especially evident from the get-go! My spacious ocean view suite was beautifully decorated! It included a full kitchen, living area with it’s own TV (HBO included). A full bathroom and of course a large king bed with a view of the ocean from our balcony! The king bed was plush and very comfortable for a restful night’s sleep. The view from the balcony was out of this world! It offered breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez into the Pacific Ocean. It overlooked the mountain and the private balcony offered breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez.

Casa Dorada Resort and Spa provides an amazing amount of vacation activities that cater to all interests. Whether you’re a beach bum, an adventurer, or a foodie, this resort has something for everyone.
Relaxation at Medano Beach: The resort’s pristine private beach is a tranquil oasis! I spent my mornings taking in the sunrise and sipping on coconut water. The leisurely walks along the golden sands were so peaceful! The Medano beach is great place to do yoga, meditate and start out your day. Although, I tried to get to the beach earlier in the day (before 12pm-ish) before it gets busy from the tourist crowds.
Spa Bliss: The Saltwater Spa was a true highlight! Their holistic treatments and skilled therapists left me feeling rejuvenated and ready for more vacation adventures. After a long hot day of walking around town, I always looked forward to booking a visit to the Spa to unwind and some much needed relaxation! The spa and massages were not included in our stay. But holistic treatment is a 2 hour session where you will be pampered and relaxed. Certainly look to give this a try after a long day of exploring and you will thank me!
Adventure Excursions:
Our concierge Victor, was more than happy to help us in planning and scheduling activities for us during our stay! He booked us group ATV riding, snorkeling in Cabo Pulmo and zip-lining in the Baja desert. I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with marine life during a snorkeling expedition. Although it was my first experience snorkeling, it is a memory I will forever cherish!!! Victor and the rest of the Casa Dorada staff made our Los Cabos experience one that we will never forget! Pro tip: Don’t wear nice clothes if you go ATV riding…trust me!
Culinary Delights: Dining options were exceptional. Our stay included a breakfast buffet which was amazing. We enjoyed the seafood at the beachfront 12 Tribes Restaurant and enjoyed sunset cocktails at the B Bar. Don’t miss the mouthwatering tacos at Maydān – a culinary masterpiece. My mouth is watering remembering the tacos as I write this. The El Rincon Culinario restaurant had a variety of international food with fresh caught seafood daily.
Although the food at Casa Dorada was phenomenal, we made an effort to try the local cuisine as well to get a more authentic vacation experience.
Exploring Los Cabos Experience
The resort’s proximity to Cabo San Lucas Marina and downtown Cabo made it easy to explore the vibrant local scene, shop for souvenirs, and sample authentic Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend to book a travel tour early in your trip. We booked a local tour guide that led us into town and showcased Cabo’s especially rich history. We started the tour with everyone’s favorite Tequila tasting and then into a tour of the local glass factory.
The local markets were great for finding souvenir items to bring back home. Just be sure to bargain the price down as much as you can! Since the Los Cabos experience is a tourist destination, there is usually a steep mark-up on the price of a lot of goods. For example, we were able to bargain a nice straw hat we like from $30 USD to $5!!!
Also please do book a sunset cruise during your stay. My partner and I absolutely loved it. It departs about an hour before sunsets and takes you into the Pacific Ocean. You will make stops to El Arco, Lover’s beach, and eventually into the Pacific. Our sunset cruise was around 2 hours and it was simply magical! Nothing beats breathing in the fresh ocean air and being with your partner watching the sunset!
Los Cabos Experience Vacation Vibes: 5/5
The ambiance at Casa Dorada Resort and Spa is simply magical. Every evening, I was treated to stunning sunsets over the ocean while sipping on margaritas. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was a soothing and particularly peaceful. The sand between your toes while you grab a bite from one of Casa Dorada’s many restaurants. The pool is open to guests until 10pm but they aren’t very strict on enforcing that time. We got to know the staff pretty well during our stay and they’d let us stay an extra hour or so in pool relaxing or playing water volleyball.
If you are travelling with family and kids, there is a play area for the kids to play in while the adults relax nearby at the pool. Music and other activities are always entertaining us and the rest of the guests. At no time did we feel there was a lull or that it was boring. There is always something to do which made our stay very eventful!
It’s the kind of place that makes you forget about the world outside and fully embrace your vacation mode.
Conclusion
In summary, Casa Dorada Resort and Spa delivered us an extraordinary vacation experience. From the luxurious accommodations to the wide range of vacation activities, I can very well confidently say that this resort exceeded my expectations in every way.
