My recent Greek vacation at Calilo was truly exceptional, a dreamy escape that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped foot on this paradise to the day I reluctantly bid farewell, my stay was nothing short of magical.
Calilo Resort Review
Location
First and foremost, the location was absolutely stunning. Nestled on the picturesque island of Ios, Calilo seamlessly blended into the breathtaking Greek landscape. To illustrate, it was as if the resort had been plucked right out of a postcard, making it the perfect setting for an unforgettable Greek vacation.
Although Ios doesn’t have an airport, getting to the resort was simple. Since Ios doesn’t have an airport, you will have to ferry in from a neighboring island. In my experience, the best route was to fly into Santorini airport and then take the ferry ride over to Ios. Your ferry ride can be anywhere from 45 mins to 1.5 hours depending on the type of ferry you choose. Without doubt, Greece’s ferry connection is top-class, you will be able to explore Santorini and the neighboring islands during your stay from Ios!
Calilo Suite
Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by the perfect harmony between modern comfort and traditional Greek charm. The accommodations weren’t just a place to rest; they were an integral part of the Greek vacation experience. Waking up each morning to sweeping vistas of the sparkling Aegean Sea was an enchanting way to start the day.
Of course there are a variety of suites to choose from at Calilo. We stayed in a beachfront suite which is smaller compared to some of the others although it has a gorgeous uninterrupted view of the beach. Not only does each suite comes with its own private terrace but also with its own swimming pool and additional plunge pools. Each and every room is decorated with gorgeous marble and open concept bathrooms! It is a true luxury experience!
Hospitality
Calilo stands for “Create a LIfe you can fall In LOve with.” Thus, this mantra is engrained within everyone at Calilo. Without a doubt, the staff at Calilo were the embodiment of hospitality! Their warm and attentive service made me feel like an esteemed guest. In addition, their wealth of knowledge was invaluable in maximizing the enjoyment of my Greek vacation. Above all, their suggestions and recommendations added depth to my adventure.
Calilo Restaurants and Meals
Now, let’s talk about the food. The resort’s restaurant was a culinary treasure trove, a place where Greek cuisine shone brilliantly. From the freshest seafood to the most delectable meze dishes, not to mention every meal was a tantalizing journey through Greece’s rich culinary heritage. At last, dining beneath the starlit sky with the gentle lull of the sea as a backdrop was pure enchantment.
